Mary-Jane began her music education at the age of six with the late Father Brendan McNally, continuing with Kate Ellis and then going on to study with Bill Butt during her time in the Royal Irish Academy of Music. Mary-Jane’s career as a professional cellist has allowed her the opportunity to play in orchestras all around the world including cities in Europe and the USA.
Over the past decade Mary-Jane has become a highly sought after cello teacher, delivering an excellent standard of tuition to young people and adults. Alongside one to one tuition, she has spent many years teaching in a group environment delivering programmes in primary and secondary schools and youth projects. This type of teaching has allowed her to develop her approach to classroom tuition and grow her expertise in music education.
