Music Generation in partnership with Mary Immaculate College Limerick and Athlone, Dublin West, Limerick and Sligo Education Centres present Sound Beginnings: Early Years Music Education Professional Development Seminars.
Early Years Music Education Professional Development Seminar dates:
1 November 2014: Athlone Education Centre, 9.30am – 4.00pm
15 November 2014: Limerick Education Centre, 9.30am – 4.00pm
22 November 2014: Dublin West Education Centre. 9.30am – 4.00pm
29 November 2014: Sligo Education Centre. 9.30am – 4.00pm
*The same Seminar will be delivered in each of the 4 locations.
These practical one-day courses are open to musicians, childcare practitioners, primary teachers and policymakers involved in early years music education. Come along to this ‘hands-on’ participatory course which will:

Dr Emer Ring (Head of Department of Reflective Pedagogy & Early Childhood Studies, MIC, Limerick)
Fiona Kelleher (Early Childhood Facilitator, Composer & Musician)
Frances Shanahan (Community Musician & Early Years Consultant)
Dr Thomas Johnston (Music Generation Postdoctoral Research Fellow, St. Patrick's College)
Margaret O'Sullivan (Music Generation Cork City Co-ordinator)
The seminars are designed by Dr. Ailbhe Kenny (MIC, Limerick) and developed in response to the growth of early years music education practice across the country. This stimulating seminar will kick-start what is intended to be a long-term initiative, aimed at resourcing those involved in early years music education practice.
Fee: €50 per participant (tea / coffee / lunch included)
