Calling All Music Makers: Celebrate World Children’s Day 2024 through Music!
On World Children’s Day on November 20th we’re inviting young musicians to share their favourite musical moment from We are Music Generation 2024!
To celebrate World Children's Day 2021, NOISE Music participants from Music Generation South Dublin created and performed a new track which debuted at the Ombudsman for Children's Office (OCO), Child Talks event. The Young Ambassadors composed the vocal and rap piece around the event's theme of My Hopes for the Future . They joined a number of inspiring young speakers who shared their Hopes for the Future and called on people of power to listen and learn from children and young people today.
Child Talks, now in its fourth year, was developed by OCO to provide a platform for children and young people to discuss issues that matter to them. Some of the 2021 topics, chosen by the passionate speakers themselves, focused on how the pandemic has affected their mental health, Direct Provision, scoliosis, gender equality and climate change.
"Children have been through so much since March 2020 – they have missed out, fallen behind and taken the blame. The theme of this year’s Child Talks is My Hopes for the Future and it is inspiring to hear how our young people are dealing with challenges and looking forward." Dr. Niall Muldoon, the Ombudsmand for Children
"I wanted to support this event and just have fun as well!" Adam, Music Generation South Dublin
