Having launched its Traditional Ensemble at the 2017 Ruaille Buaille Festival, Music Generation South Dublin will return with its very own self-programmed Creative Space at this year’s festival.
Ruaille Buaille is a children's music festival taking place in Lucan, County Dublin, hosting an exciting programme of music workshops, performances and outdoor events suitable for children of all ages. This year's Ruaille Buaille Live at Griffeen Park returns on Saturday 9 June including performances in four marquee spaces, face-painting, circus performers, pop-up shows and food stalls. Festival-goers and children of all ages will be able to experience music-making through a wide variety of music styles, genres and instruments, in a fun and informal way.
In a brand new development for 2018, Music Generation South Dublin has programmed its own Creative Space on Saturday, kicking off at 12.30pm and running until 4pm. The Creative Tent line-up will include a creative workshop with Daire Bracken and James Mahon, a Sean Nós dance workshop led by Aideen Burke and performances by James Mahon and Friends, Music Generation South Dublin County Trad Ensemble, Rathcoole Hub Trad Group, St. Martin’s National School Brittas and Lucan Chomhaltas Group.
All events, workshops and performances are free of charge and entry to each session will be on a ‘first come first served basis’.
The full schedule of events for the festival is available to read and download from the Ruaille Buaille website.
Ruaille Buaille is produced by South Dublin County Council Arts and Library Services. The festival programme is curated and managed by Artscope and will take place in Lucan Library, local primary schools and in Griffeen Park.
