Music Generation, Ireland’s National Music Education Programme, provides access to performance music education for over 100,000 children and young people annually. On Wednesday 30th October, more than 250 Musician Educators gathered at the Galmont Hotel in Galway, for an event dedicated to celebrating the incredible impact of their work with children and young people nationwide. Musician Educators from diverse musical backgrounds came together to share experiences, challenge current approaches, collaborate, and learn from one another.
Participants enjoyed hands-on activities exploring innovative teaching techniques, including demonstrations of new technologies such as VR music-making and a whirlwind introduction to DJ skills and culture. These sessions provided Musician Educators with opportunities to experiment with fresh ideas, share best practices, and collaborate on strategies to enhance their teaching methods. Musician Educators lead and presented on themes that included Breaking Social Barriers Through Music, Fostering Creativity and Inclusion in the Classroom, Singing for Every Child: A Journey of Voice, Wellbeing and Joy and much more.
