Did You Know!
Ireland is the first, and only, country in the world to have a national day of free creativity for children and young people under 18. Cruinniú na nÓg is a flagship initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme’s Creative Youth Plan to enable the creative potential of children and young people.
Keep it Local!
Music Generation areas all over Ireland are teaming up with their local libraries to deliver early years, ukulele, songwriting and drumming workshops. Don't miss Music Generation Longford's Music Bonanza with lots of exciting musical opportunities taking place in 6 libraries throughout the county. Instruments are provided so everyone can take part!
Music Generation Sligo will be popping up in libraries to welcome children into workshop-style creative spaces to be a conductor for the day. There will be tones of instruments on display including cello, violin, guitar, keyboard, harp, mandolin, drums, percussion and more! Find out more here.

Music Generation Cavan/Monaghan have been delivering songwriting sessions in Patrician High School, Carrickmacross. The programme participants composed, arranged and recorded two whopper songs and music videos under the guidance of Musician Educators Ray McLoughlin and Niall Hanna and class teacher Padraig McGovern. After wowing their school community with a live, end-of-year premiere performance last month, these young musicians are ready to entertain the crowd at Íontas Theatre, Castleblaney on June 11th for 'Garageland Galayxz Cavan Monaghan'.
Young musician Zac McCormick (guitar and lead vocals) composed 'Enjoy Life' during the songwriting programme. He will perform the track alongside his fellow musicians (photographed above) Dara McKitterick (guitar and backing vocals), Jason Kelly (guitar and backing vocals), Jerome Bundy (piano), and Conor Harrington (guitar and backing vocals) on June 11th. Inspiring song lyrics and melodies from these young music makers, their performance is not to be missed! Check out their music video here.
The newly formed, retro rock youth band 'The Responce' will perform an original track 'At the End of the Day' (Composed by Christopher Marron) at the Garageland Galayxz gig. Check out their music video below! 'The Reponce' is a group of exceptionally talented, young musicians which includes Christopher Marron (lead vocals and guitar), Connor Martin (Backing Vocals), Lucas Macardle (electric guitar), Daniel Garrido Shine (drums), Dennis Leimanis (bass) and Gabriel Siruma (piano).
If that wasn't all, Irish Folk/Americana duo 'Hudson Taylor' will bring their unique, energising sounds to the stage as special guests and headlining act on the day. The event will be live-streamed and all details can be found here.
