Carlow: In Carlow, the Music Generation Carlow Rock School welcomes young people of all levels of experience to register for tuition in guitar, bass and drums at The Vault, Burrin Street this Saturday 9 September from 10am to 12 noon.
Clare: Young musicians in Clare are invited to register for three different ensembles: the ‘Pop and Rock Orchestra’, the ‘Guitarchestra’ and the recently established ‘Music Generation Clare Trad Group’. Laois: Music Generation Laois and the Laois School of Music host an open evening at the Portlaoise Further Education and Training Centre on Wednesday 9 September, from 6pm to 8pm, offering an opportunity to try out a variety of instruments and meet the tutors involved.

Offaly/Westmeath: Preparations are already underway for Music Generation Offaly/Westmeath’s annual Singfest choral residency in partnership with the Association of Irish Choirs. Three Festival Choirs will be formed for the project, and applications are now being accepted from enthusiastic and hard-working singers ages 8 to 19, until Friday 22 September 2018 - register online.
Sligo: Autumn Notes is a new a music literacy class for parents, children and young people ages 9+, presented by Music Generation Sligo in partnership with the Sligo County Council Library Service, and as part of Creative Ireland. Places for this 10 week course are limited, and booking is essential before 11 September 2017. Register by email.
South Dublin: Young people ages 13 to 18 in South Dublin are invited to take part in Suburban Sounds – a 6-month music experience, incorporating mentorship in song writing, music composition and performance. The programme, managed by Alt Ents and Contact Studio and funded by Music Generation South Dublin, takes place in Rua Red, and the deadline for registrations is Friday 13 October.
Wicklow: Music Generation Wicklow recommences tuition at hubs in Blessington and Baltinglass from Tuesday 19 September, across a range of instruments including keyboard, guitar and drums for junior and senior groups. The Dunlavin strings programme gets underway in Scoil Nioclais Naofa on Thurs 28 September, and the Blessington Further Education Centre will host Traditional Irish Music Groups for young people ages 7 to 18 from Friday 29 September.
