Tionól is a national event presented by Music Generation Laois which sees young pipers and harpists from Music Generation partnerships throughout Ireland come together with professional Irish and international musicians to develop their skills, learn new songs, exchange ideas, rehearse, perform and have fun!
November 2017 marked the second annual Tionól for Harps and Pipes where 150 professional and young musicians from 11 different counties arrived in Portlaoise. A spectacular weekend of workshops, sessions and performances for harpers and pipers of all ages and levels of experience was had. Check out the video above to see how the young musicians got on.
