Music Generation Offaly/Westmeath is counting down to Christmas with some wondeful concerts coming up to mark the festive season.
The children from St. Peter's Girls School, The Dean Kelly Boys School, St. Mary's National School, St. Paul's Infant School and members of the Athlone schools orchestra are busy working towards A Christmas Celebration, a concert of Christmas music, which will take place in the Dean Crowe Theatre and Arts Centre on Wednesday 10th December at 7.30pm.
Also, don't miss the opportunity to catch the Mullingar Music Jam special Christmas event which will take place on Thursday 18th December. The Mullingar Music Jam, a partnership initiative of MGOW, the Mullingar School Completion Programme and Midlands Regional Youth Service (Mullingar), began earlier this summer. It gave young people, of all ages an opportunity to access music tuition on a variety of instruments, in a relaxed supportive atmosphere, under the expert guidance of MGOW tutors. Due to it's popularity, the Mullingar Music Jam will host this live informal session, where we can see the progress which has been made by the young participants over the last few months.
