A Special Performance for a Special Event
This week the MGLC ensemble were delighted to take part in the launch for the Special Olympics that will take place in Limerick, June 2014.
The launch event was at University Concert Hall on Tuesday afternoon. The ensemble brought in the help of two talented teenage rappers, who have been honing their skills at the MGLC Music Hub at Kileely as well as the St Mary’s National School Choir.
This group of almost 40 singers and musicians performed a special live version of the track that MGLC have been recording in recent weeks. This track includes members of over 26 local ensembles with a combined number of over 500 performers, and will be unvieled soon!
2014 Special Olympics Ireland Games
Special Olympics Ireland is delighted to officially announce that Limerick has been chosen as the host city for the 2014 Special Olympics Ireland Games.
The Games, which will take place in June will be one of the largest and most prestigious sporting events to take place in Ireland in 2014.
Special Olympics athletes from throughout the island of Ireland will compete in 14 sports during the Games. They will be accompanied by coaching teams and official delegates as well as a large contingent of family members and supporters.
