The Laois School of Music and Music Generation Laois Inaugural Music Festival took place on Saturday 15th March in Portlaoise College. Over 80 performers took part in the event, on a range of instruments, from piano, violin, cello, flute, saxophone, recorder, uilleann pipes, harp, trumpet, euphonium and djembes. All performers are students in the Laois School of Music and Music Generation Laois programmes, based in Portlaoise College.
Well-known Irish Music Educator Dorothy Connaghan attended the event, and gave written feedback to all who performed, as well as a medal of participation. Both children and adult students from Laois School of Music and Music Generation Laois participated in the Festival, which is now set to become an annual event.
