Eight members of the Music Generation Laois Harp Ensemble, accompanied by their tutor Siobhán Buckley, performed to a rapt audience at the American Ambassador’s Residence for The Ireland Funds Young Leaders Christmas Reception 2015.
Among those to welcome the Ensemble and enjoy their playing was the US Ambassador to Ireland, Kevin O’Malley (pictured above), Caitriona Fottrell (Vice President and Director of The Ireland Funds, Ireland), Ronan Foley (Chairman, The Ireland Funds, Ireland) and Siobhán Gallagher (Director of the Young Leaders, Ireland).
The reception at the American Ambassador’s Residence in The Phoenix Park, Dublin, marked the beginning of Christmas for The Ireland Funds Young Leaders; a society that brings together young professionals to network and support the philanthropic work of The Worldwide Ireland Funds. The Young Leaders Society provides a forum for emerging philanthropists to become closely involved with the mission of The Worldwide Ireland Funds, as well as with prominent business and civic leaders who support the organisation.
On the evening, Music Generation Laois Harp Ensemble performed a selection of contemporary and traditional Irish music, together with some festival favourites! Joining them on the evening was Music Generation Laois Coordinator, Rosa Flannery.
