Music Generation Clare has commenced the Minimasters Early Year’s programme (part of the Fair Play! Pre-school performance programme) which will be taking place in five locations in Ennis and Clarecastle.
The aim of the programme, which is led and facilitated by Julie Tiernan with Tembre de Carteret, is to engage pre-school children in a process of creative, hands-on music making where they get to explore aspects of music such as tonality, rhythm and composition, in a fun and interactive way. Games that touch on pulse, pitch, duration and tempo are incorporated into weekly activities, ensuring that every class is a thoroughly enjoyable experience for all the participants!
The combination of music and movement, which is at the heart of the Early Year Programme, encourages children to interact both with one another as well as with their childcare professionals. The singing aspect of the programme is particularly important for developing self-confidence, creativity and self-esteem, as well as laying the foundations for future instrumental and vocal studies.
