Young Clare musicians aged 12 to 15 are being given the opportunity to take part in ensemble performances as part of the newly founded Music Generation Clare Rock and Pop Orchestra.
This new initiative will be led by Ennis musician Graham Keane, an experienced guitar tutor well-known for his work with Guitarchestra and numerous bands including ‘Korazoncito’. Graham has also worked with many internationally renowned musicians and studied composition and arrangement in The Academy of Contemporary Music in Surrey, England.
The Rock and Pop Orchestra will meet on alternate Sundays, beginning 18 September 2016, from 11am to 1pm. Rehearsals will take place in the Halla of the Holy Family School, Station Road, Ennis. Young musicians will have the chance to work with a diverse and lively repertoire, ranging from The Black Keys to Adele and everything in between.
Applications for the Orchestra are open, until Friday 16 September. To apply, fill out the expression of interest form online.
Formed in January 2016, The Clare Trazz Experience is also accepting enrolments from new members, ages 12 to 18. For the new academic year, weekly rehearsals have been extended to three new venues in Scariff, Kilrush and Ennis, with Ennistymon rehearsals continuing in An Teach Ceoil on a fortnightly basis.
