Minister for Education and Skills Jan O’Sullivan T.D. paid a visit last week to St. Mary’s National School in Bagenalstown, County Carlow, where she had a chance to see Music Generation Carlow’s Early Years Primary music class in action.
Facilitated by Music Generation Carlow Early Years musician Alison Behan, the Early Years Primary music programme is an extension of the Little People Big Voices programme, which aims to develop pulse and group music-making from a young age. The programme is facilitated through the Orff scheme, with every Early Years primary class learning through the use of a brand new set of Orff instruments.
In addition to stepping in to the music classroom, Minister O’Sullivan officially turned the sod on the new school building at St. Mary’s.
