South Dublin County Council, as Lead Partner for South Dublin Music Education Partnership, seeks to employ a Music Development Officer for Music Generation South Dublin, to implement its strategic plan for the provision of performance music education for children and young people in the South Dublin County area.
Music Generation South Dublin is a music education service for children and young people that provides a range of opportunities throughout the county for children and young people to learn music.
It is among 12 areas of the country currently participating in Music Generation – Ireland’s National Music Education Programme, initiated by Music Network, co-funded by U2, The Ireland Funds, the Department of Education and Skills and Local Music Education Partnerships.
Established in 2014, Music Generation South Dublin currently provides a range of performance music education programmes to over 2,000 children and young people. Further details are available online.
The successful candidate for the role of Music Development Officer should have a breadth of experience and understanding of performance music education across a range of ages, genres of music and contexts, from pre-school age to young adults, in formal and informal settings.
They will be a qualified, experienced individual who will drive the artistic and developmental vision of the music service and ensure that it is focused on delivering high quality experiences for children/young people.
