It’s Christmas time and we can hear those jingle bells ringing. Music Generation local partnerships are preparing for concerts and events in schools, community and youth centres, opera houses, theatres and more. Carlow, Clare, Cork City, Donegal, Laois, Limerick City, Louth, Mayo, Offaly, Westmeath, Sligo, South Dublin and Wicklow will sparkle with talent over the coming weeks in the lead up to the end of term and the start of the holidays.

Young musicians from Music Generation Carlow’s Piano Duet Club and oboe programme took part in the 25th Anniversary Christmas Extravaganza Concert hosted by Carlow College of Music on Saturday 5 December.
Marking festive proceedings in Clare, Music Generation and glór will present a one-off performance by internationally-acclaimed singer and composer, Julie Feeney. €10 tickets are available to under 18s under the Leath / Leath 50 / 50 scheme.
Music Generation Cork young musicians performed at their Christmas Celebration at the Blue Angel Bar, in the Cork Opera House on Thursday 10 December.
Choir members, musicians and tutors from Donegal Music Education Partnership will take part in their Christmas Concert this Sunday 13 December at An Grianán Theatre.
On 18 December, the excellent Music Generation Laois School of Rock and Pop will host their Christmas Concert at the Portlaoise Youth Education Centre, Railway Street.
Music Generation Limerick City will ring in the festive season with a unique production of The Snowman, providing a live soundtrack to the classic film alongside the Limerick City Children’s Choir and special guests.
Music Generation Louth will take part in the Dundalk Institute of Technology Christmas Concert on Saturday 12 December, featuring Dundalk Choir, instrumental and vocal soloists, strings orchestras, harp ensemble and more.
Budding musicians and songwriters taking part in Music Generation Mayo and the Arts Council’s songSPARKS project will perform their original work at a debut concert on Saturday 12 December, in Ballina Arts Centre.
Music Generation Offaly / Westmeath singers and musicians are entertaining dozens of audiences this month, with a series of carol services and music events taking place in schools and shopping centres across both counties.
End of term sees Music Generation Sligo student awards ceremonies and Christmas concerts taking place throughout the county.
In Collinstown and Rathcoole, young musicians from the Music Generation South Dublin hubs will perform at Christmas concerts on Wednesday 16 and Tuesday 17 December.
Music Generation singers and musicians in schools all through Wicklow are set to entertain parents, teachers and fellow pupils at a series of Christmas concerts and recitals, featuring piano, orchestra, violin, recorder, tin whistle, and of course Christmas carols!
